Aviation

Every take off is optional, every landing is mandatory..I've heard this before, however not applied it to anything non aviation like. Today, I did. We have a one car garage under the house. I love that it is there for loading and unloading of items such as kids and groceries. It provides warmth and protection from Mother Nature's elements. Being me, I will usually have a complaint to offer right along w/ my praise of something..'Pretty good..let me show you what you did wrong'...so, my complaint (sometimes as not to be a 'hater' I call these simple observations and not complaints) would be that it is very narrow, offering about an inch on either side of the vehicle to enter. It took me a while before I would even attempt it. I would not pull in with screaming children b/c it would make me loose concentration and every ounce of concentration was needed to be applied to pulling in evenly to avoid hitting anything. I knew the day would come that pulling in would result in a love tap of the rear view mirror...What I never thought about was that it was optional to pull in, mandatory to pull out. Today, was the day, that I realized it is just as narrow and requires just as much attention to pull out. As i noticed what I did and offered up an 'oh shit' (tho, it was rather quiet as not to provide a new phrase for my little parrot in the back seat - I was rather proud of this and choose to have this be the positive outcome I will focus on from the experience). Break away mirror=genius.. electric hook up= not so flexible. So, I grabbed the blue painting tape and reinforced the mirror to the rear view and off we went. I didn't find it overly upsetting because I've known since I laid eyes on the garage that it was just a matter of time. In a way, I'm relieved I've gotten it out of the way (providing Chris can fix the mirror, if this requires money to fix, then I will find it very upsetting). So, that is that. I wish our vehicle was a Toyota and I could blame it on a faulty gas pedal, or the builder who designed the garage opening for a SmartCar..but this one was all me.

Mind you, this was hours after I was pumping and not paying attention and put my very full cup of coffee on the 'table'..How was I to know the table had been moved last night. Very full cup of coffee makes very full splash on carpet, sofa, chair, boppy, and floor. soooooooo
