Really?

" I enjoyed every minute of it!"...really? I call bullshit on this one. Unless what the person is referring to took under 3 minutes, I just don't see how that is possible. There are plenty of things to enjoy in under 3 minutes..like a roller coaster for example (I'm sure the first example that came to the mind of the reader, too..). With anything, there needs to be a system of checks and balances. Our forefathers decided on one to help keep our government in balance - that one seems to be going incredibly well. They run checks and balances on roller coasters, to help ensure a safe and enjoyable ride. Sometimes if one part seems a tad off balance, it can really throw the whole system off. Sometimes you realize how important each part is, only when it becomes out of order. In Maslow's Hierarchy of needs the bottom of the triangle represents our basic needs. I feel as you work your way up the triangle, to self actualization, you tend to focus less on the previous needs, already met, and they can be taken for granted. How often do you acknowledge the fact that you need air and it is, in fact, readily available for you. You may think of it if you have the wind knocked out of you or you are choking, but just at a regular moment during a regular day, do we fully take time to appreciate our air, water, shelter? It becomes more obvious if one part of your triangle is affected, that the rest of the triangle becomes out of order...sort of a trickle down effect. It takes courage to look at and examine the parts that may not be working..to step back, look at the structure, and make necessary adjustments to be able to say ..'I enjoyed every minute of it' - or all 3 minutes of it, anyway

On a lighter note..Observations of a crosswalk:
1. If someone is approaching a crosswalk, close enough to see, but not close enough to slam on brakes, I always apologize to them out loud, in my car. They can not hear me.
2. I tend to fake jog the first few steps as to suggest to the person who has to legally yield to pedestrians, I will hurry across for them, only to stop fake jog after 3-5 steps and return to my usual pace?
